Account Manager - Appfolio

Job duties

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring timely and professional communication.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with internal accounting teams to deliver accurate and timely financial services.
• Oversee a team of Bookkeepers and Senior Bookkeepers, ensuring the effective execution of core accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Review financial work prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining high quality standards.
• Coordinate operational activities related to property accounting, including property setup, owner distributions, and management fees.
• Lead client meetings, document key discussions, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
• Monitor deadlines, prioritize tasks, and ensure monthly deliverables are completed on time.
• Escalate risks, operational issues, or client concerns to senior leadership when appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Certified Public Accountant preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years experience working with AppFolio (mandatory)
• 2+ years experience working with Yardi Breeze (desirable)
• 2+ years overall experience in real estate accounting/finance, ideally at an accounting firm working on real estate clients or directly at a real estate investment/development company
• Able to lead Client meetings
• Knowledge about recording purchases, dispositions, refinancing, capitalization of costs throughout real estate development, and rental property income statements
• Passion for real estate, perfect books and providing business insights to clients
• Strong English verbal and written skills as you will be one of the points of contact for the clients
• Able to hit deadlines while staying calm under pressure
• Extremely detail and process oriented - you strive in creating organization
• Proficient with communication and collaboration tools (Slack, Clickup, Workspace)

Location and schedule

This is a virtual (remote), full-time role available only to candidates located in Philippines

The position requires availability Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST
